December at Last!

We enjoyed celebrating both Thanksgiving and Christmas with both of our families!

Kate made her first ever cheesecake.  It was a copycat recipe from the Cheesecake Factory.  It was a labor of love and took awhile, but it was oh so tasty!

We were invited to learn the art of making homemade marshmallow and a variety of chocolates.  So fun!
This girl LOVES to read.  She has completed her 60th book of the year.  Most were Christian non-fiction books with the exception of 2 fiction books (Anne of Green Gables and Pilgrim's Progress).  She also took it upon herself to write a little summary of each one and rate them one-five stars.  My goal for this next year is to read her top 3 book recommendations from 2024.

I put our presents under the tree on Christmas Eve.  Scout must have remembered what presents mean- we've always had one for her.  While the teenagers slept in on Christmas morning, Scout woke us up at 4:00...and then 6:00...and again at 7:00.  She just couldn't wait any longer!
She loves her new toy, and this will be her toy of choice until she gets her next new toy.  It makes me laugh every time!

And with that, we can bring 2024 to a close.  I'm reminded of Psalm 126:3 which sums up our year and our life..."The Lord has done great things for us, and we are full of joy!"  (I probably use this verse every year, but it always seems so fitting as I reflect on God's goodness over the past year.)  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

October-November

Woohoo!  Scott shot a squirrel on the Student Ministry Squirrel Hunt.

Happy 12th Birthday to Kate!

Kate with Jon on each of the four past presidential elections (2012)...
2016...
2020...

2024...thankfully Jon's lucky shorts actually worked this time!

Fall Happenings

Congratulations to Mike & Carol on a 50th Wedding Celebration!

Scott got a custom order from a neighbor.  She wanted 50 wooden centerpieces for a work event.  It was a big project, but Scott enjoyed taking it on!

Hitting the volleyball up and down the stairs- an almost daily event!

To each his own- Scott had fun posing with a new saw that Jon got, and Natalie was thrilled to get a steamer.  She went to town cleaning grout, chairs, our oven, and more!

Grandpa Mike helps with a lot of the wood work, too!
All hands on deck for stacking day.

Welcome Fall!

Simply Scout

Scout wasn't sure what to think of these garage sale finds!

She was growling at the horse.

Comfy??!

Thinking about chicken...

Scout seemed extra bored one day during a geology lesson.  "When will this be over??"  (I think she likes playing with dinos and ponies instead!)

Kate took the last three pictures of Scout.  She's becoming a great photographer!  It even looks like Scout was smiling for her!
