As part of a birthday present for Scott, we were given some ticket money to go to Holiday World as a family. We ended up going on Scott's actual birthday. As we were leaving the park, Scott said, "This was the more funner and best birthday that I have EVER had!" :)
The 3 hour drive there and back seemed long. As Jon summarized well, Natalie has two modes of travel...sleeping or whining. We'll have to work on that!
Once we got to the park, Natalie was unsure at first, but quickly warmed up the the concept of rides. Scott seemed to love every minute of it (with the exception of one water ride that got his shirt wet). He surprised us by even liking a roller coaster. He had a huge grin on his face during the rides, and it was so fun to watch the kids have such a great day. The weather was gorgeous, too. We couldn't have asked for a better day.

This certainly justifies some new hairbows and shoes for Natalie. After all, we will be getting twice the use out of them now. :)
The baby is growing right on schedule and everything looked good on the ultrasound. The technician said that the baby's facial features looked more like Scott's than Natalie's. Thought that was interesting. I was doing good to recognize a fist or a foot, so I'm amazed that she could compare the facial feautres of my kiddos.
We're praising the Lord for this new little life. Halfway to our meeting day!
Happy Birthday, Scott Matthew! I cannot believe that it's been FOUR years already. People often tell me that Scott looks like a little Jonathan. I love that! He's going to take after his daddy in a lot of ways, too. He loves to do projects and sees them through to the end. He has an amazing memory and is a critical thinker...all traits that he definitely picked up from his father. He makes us laugh without even trying. The other day, he said, "Mom, it's such a nice day today. Do you think we should go O-U-T?" Jon and I have always spelled it out when talking with one another for fear that the kids would get too excited too quickly. Those days might be drawing to an end soon. :) It will continue to be fun to watch him grow and change and will be neat to see what the Lord has in store for him in the future. We are so thankful for Scott and think of him as such a blessing.

Scott is VERY much into safety rules while riding his bike. He won't ride anywhere without his helmet on. He brakes at stops waaaaay before necessary. My parents bought him a horn for his bike, and he dutifully toots it when "needed" on the trail at the park. :)
I am pleased to announce that Natalie now no longer takes a pacifier. IT. WAS. ROUGH. It took well over a week for her to make her adjustment, and we are still dealing with a few minor bumps in the road, but things seem to be improving. Mental note for child #3- don't wait until my child's 2nd birthday before removing pacifier. Not fun for ANY of us.
We go for the 20 week ultrasound in 14 days...but who's counting?! :)
We got home from the park the other evening to find this in the field area next to our house.
The kids gasped and started running towards this instead. They seemed much more impressed by Scoop, Muck, and Roley being parked so close to our home than they were by the skittish deer.
Sidenote: Crews have been working in our neighborhood all week on road repair, and Scott has been so delighted. He told me the other day that he wants to be a builder someday. I was praising him for this, telling him that he would be good at designing buildings (architect?) and overseeing jobsites (construction management?). He was quiet for a bit and then proudly announced, "I'm going to be the one who holds the signs!"
