Scott and Natalie were playing in the tub when a squabble broke out.
I went in to try to figure out who squirted who in the eye with water
when Natalie piped up, "We're both being bad. It's the bad truth."
How do I punish THAT?!?! I'm sure the cuteness of these comments will come to an end someday (maybe soon), but when my two year old says that when I'm getting ready to get mad at her, it makes it so difficult!
On a similar note, I pulled out (plain, white) styrofoam plates to serve the kids dinner on tonight. Both kids seemed pretty excited about them. Natalie exclaimed, "Ooooooh! A new plate! These are more fun!" We may be eating on paper/styrofoam plates more often...for the kids, of course.
Scott heard a train whistle just as I was snapping the picture below...can you tell?
I got my hair cut & highlighted last week. When I got home, Natalie asked what the lady did to my hair and said, "You look like a horse." I'm hoping she wasn't referring to one of her My Little Ponies with their streaked colored hair. (You're all eager to see me now, aren't you? I'm hoping the pinks and blues tone down a bit after a few washings. :):)
Mother's Day flowers with a little help from Grammy...
More randomness: If you ever put on a garage sale and sell maternity clothes, PLEASE do not point out the maternity section to your customers (especially those who have given birth in the past year). I'm sure the lady thought she was being helpful, but it gave me a complex for the rest of the day.
My parents have lately been "gifting" the kids and I with some of my junk/treasures from my past. I'm trying to purge as much of this memorabilia as possible, with some exceptions, of course. Which of the following do you think DID NOT make it's way to the trash can along with the rest?
A) Letterman's jacket
B) Two "Most Improved Runner" Awards for Cross Country
C) All of the teeth that I lost as a child stored in a tic tac container
D) Trophy for the sixth grade science fair
E) Wedding Bouquet
It's not everyday that you get to show your kids your old mouth full of teeth. Now that's something worth saving! Jon thinks it's gross, but Scott and Natalie seemed impressed. To each, his own. The teeth live on...
And, since I can't end the post on that note, I'll add a few pictures of Miss Kate.
It's past my bedtime...
Your kids make me laugh! And for the record, I would save the teeth as well. In fact, I still have some of mine along with the letter I wrote the tooth fairy asking if I could keep my tooth. Thanks for keeping these great posts coming!
ReplyDeleteP.S. also look forward to seeing your My Little Pony hair!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI laughed several times as I read this post, but the horse comment is making me randomly laugh as it comes back to mind. haha!! So funny. Oh my, your kids are SO adorable. :) Can't believe how fast they are growing!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your streaked "pony" hair! And shame on the woman who pointed out the maternity section to you...she's crazy!! :(
ReplyDeleteI have to share this in light of all your teeth that you managed to save over the last 25 years...
Lily lost her first tooth a few weeks ago and her mommy asked her if she was going to put it under the pillow for the tooth fairy. Lily said no, she was going to keep all of her teeth and make a necklace out of them so she could wear her teeth around her neck. Lol...reminds me of a cavewoman! But apparently it's not unusual to save all of your childhood teeth as you have shared with us. :) Maybe I will help Lily design her necklace...throw in a few colored beads or something to dress it up a bit. :)
