Kate turned NINE near the end of October. We had fun celebrating her over the course of a few days.
Kate also enjoyed redecorating her room with flamingos!
Kate added to her American Girl collection with Lea pictured below. I have a fun garage sale story about this retired doll. Natalie and I went garage sale hunting alone one Saturday this summer, and Kate decided to stay home with the guys. We came upon a house that was selling some American Girl doll clothes and a very used AG doll for $20. Natalie spotted some of Lea's accessories and was telling me how Kate had always wanted Lea. The mother and daughter running the garage sale heard us, and said, "Oh- did you want Lea?" They ran back into the house and swapped out the very used AG doll for a nicely cared for retired Lea doll...for $20! We were able to get the doll, her book, and tons of her accessories. Natalie touched up the doll's hair to make it look even nicer, and we kept it a secret from Kate until October. We were excited to give her this doll, and Kate was so happy to receive her! Another garage sale victory!
Inspired by watching Kids Baking Championship, the girls begged to make Kate's birthday "drip" cake all by themselves. The process got a bit messy and silly, but Scout was helpful in cleaning up some of the mess. I don't think they are quite ready to try out for the show. Maybe next year.
Kate said it was delicious! I guess that's all that really matters!
Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl!
