Scott and Natalie were playing in the tub when a squabble broke out.
I went in to try to figure out who squirted who in the eye with water
when Natalie piped up, "We're both being bad. It's the bad truth."
Another night during bathtime, I found the bottle of soap floating
in the water. They know that they shouldn't do that, as this has
happened before. I turned to Natalie to scold her. She stood up and
must have seen the wrath on my face. With a sober look on her face, she
proclaimed, "But I will trust in God!"
How do I punish THAT?!?! I'm sure the cuteness of these comments
will come to an end someday (maybe soon), but when my two year old says
that when I'm getting ready to get mad at her, it makes it so difficult!
PB&J's are a staple in our house and are in the dinner
line-up frequently. I whipped up a couple of my famous sandwiches the
other evening for dinner and served it to the kids. Natalie took a few
bites and said, "Yum! This is the best thing that you've made!" Speaks
volumes to my cooking ability, I'm afraid.
On a similar note, I pulled out (plain, white) styrofoam plates to serve the kids dinner on tonight. Both kids seemed pretty excited about them. Natalie exclaimed, "Ooooooh! A new plate! These are more fun!" We may be eating on paper/styrofoam plates more often...for the kids, of course.
Scott heard a train whistle just as I was snapping the picture below...can you tell?
I got my hair cut & highlighted last week. When I got home, Natalie asked what the lady did to my hair and said, "You look like a horse." I'm hoping she wasn't referring to one of her My Little Ponies with their streaked colored hair. (You're all eager to see me now, aren't you? I'm hoping the pinks and blues tone down a bit after a few washings. :):)

More randomness: If you ever put on a garage sale and sell maternity clothes, PLEASE do not point out the maternity section to your customers (especially those who have given birth in the past year). I'm sure the lady thought she was being helpful, but it gave me a complex for the rest of the day.
My parents have lately been "gifting" the kids and I with some of my junk/treasures from my past. I'm trying to purge as much of this memorabilia as possible, with some exceptions, of course. Which of the following do you think DID NOT make it's way to the trash can along with the rest?
A) Letterman's jacket
B) Two "Most Improved Runner" Awards for Cross Country
C) All of the teeth that I lost as a child stored in a tic tac container
D) Trophy for the sixth grade science fair
E) Wedding Bouquet
It's not everyday that you get to show your kids your old mouth full of teeth. Now that's something worth saving! Jon thinks it's gross, but Scott and Natalie seemed impressed. To each, his own. The teeth live on...
