Smiles

It seems like it's either feast or famine on this blog...
We've been enjoying lots of family time lately.  Jon and I even had a night without the kids to celebrate our upcoming 9th anniversary.  We had planned to go to a state park and spend the night, but at the last minute, we decided to just stay home and try to do some things that we don't get to do as often with the kids around.  So, we pulled A LOT of weeds, watched a movie together (gasp!), walked a double loop at the park and hiked where strollers do not go, and ate ice cream at a cemetery.  :)  We're hanging on for anniversary #10 to pull out the really romantic ideas.   Regardless, we greatly enjoyed one another's company and were thankful for a break from parenting for the night.

Dr. Natalie had her doctor kit out one night, stethoscope on, and was giving Jon a check up.  First interaction...
Natalie:  Hi.  Do you drink Mountain Dew?
Jon:  Yes, I do.
Natalie:  Okay.  You're going to have to stay overnight.

Dinner was particularly messy one night and there was food under the kids' seats.  I asked Scott to get the vacuum and take care of the mess.  Once he turned the vacuum off, I asked, "Scott, did you get it all?"

He replied, "Well...now it looks like our normal kitchen at least.  It always has a few crumbs everywhere."

(Sigh...the honest truth...)

We were playing catch one night and everytime Natalie caught the ball she would start some long dialogue and demand everyone's attention.  I half jokingly interrupted her and started saying, "Less Talking!  More Throwing!  Less Talking!  More Throwing!"

The next day I was doing some dishes, and ignoring Natalie's endless chatter and questions for a few moments.  All of the sudden, Natalie piped up in the same cadence I had used the day prior and said, "Less Cleaning!  More Talking!  Less Cleaning!  More Talking!"

This girl DOES like to talk...
Kate's buddy-  She really seems to have a special bond with her Great Grandma, and it's cute to watch.
