It was a good day!

Jon brought home a Medal of Valor, Scott aced another math test, Natalie tried tomatoes at dinner, and Kate whispered in the library.

Jon's medal was in reference to a domestic disturbance that he responded to earlier this year.  Brief version...a woman calls the police because a man is hurting her; Jon responds and walks into the room where the male is; the man starts to say something and then draws his gun.  As the man brought the gun up to shoot Jon, Jon was able to grab the end of the pistol and rip it from the man's hand and take him down.  Attempting to kill a police officer landed the felon a little time in jail, but he is out again roaming the streets.  These stories are becoming all too regular.  Praise GOD for his protection and for bringing Jon home safe yet again.  I keep telling Jon, "No more medals please!" (Unless they start awarding them for strong work ethic, punctuality, helpfulness, etc.)  :)
