KATE is EIGHT

Two months ago today, Kate turned eight! She had to go to school on her birthday (the injustice!), so we celebrated a few other times.

Opening gifts here and there...

Special trip to Build-a-Bear with the grandparents...
Before Kate's party, she realized that she had a picture of her and one of her friends hanging in her room, but not a picture with the other girl.  She brought the picture to me and told me we should put it away so that the other girl didn't feel left out. This sums up Kate so well...always thinking about how others might feel.
Scavenger hunt and art party...(Hats off to Natalie for totally being my party planner! She created gifts bags, fancy place settings, and even planned a special game for the girls.)

Kate has a weekly homework packet this year in second grade.  When I approached her the night of the birthday about doing some of the work, she said, "Nah- it's my birthday."  Fair enough.  We had the whole week to complete it.  When I brought it to her the next day, she very seriously said,  "No, it's the day after my birthday.  I'll do that tomorrow."  She was going to keep the celebration going for as long as she could!

Kate continues to be a sweetheart.  She's sensitive, thinks of others, and likes to please.  She never seems to tire of staying at home, playing with Natalie, or eating garlic bread.  Everyone in our family is a big fan of Kate, and we love her to pieces!  Happy 8th Birthday, Kate!
